What he has to say is interesting although my problem with his “change” is instead of bureaucrats, we would have insurance companies controlling the system. I’m not sure who is worse. I pay a big chunk of cash each month for insurance, just for me. and I am paying addtional costs out of pocket after each visit. I’m not on medicare yet but I wonder how many medicare recipients will be able to afford all of the additional out of pocket costs associated with insurance companies taking charge?

I think we should just increase taxes to 80% of our income to keep it funded.

@Anthony, we may have to raise taxes if Medicare continues as it is. IMHO, this situation is caused when the government tries to take care of us. Instead of saving for medical issues in old age or families taking care of each other, many of my generation spent that money on other things. Many trusted the government to take care of them.

Now what do we do? Do we just cut a generation of seniors loose and cut Medicare or do we revamp the system? One way or another we are all going to pay (BTW, the medical field is also culpable in this as many have cheated the system by over billing etc).
