Military recruiter killed in Ark shooting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., A new soldier helping to attract others to the military was shot and killed outside an Army recruiting office Monday and a second soldier was wounded, and a suspect was arrested, police said.

For all those who are especially horrified by the murder of the abortionist in Kansas, how do you feel about the murder of this soldier? He seems to have been murdered “on the job.” We don’t know why, for sure, just yet… but he is as dead as the abortionist.

Suggested line of research: do a Lexis-Nexis search to find out how many editorials are written about the need to protect military recruiters. Compare to similar editorials on the need to protect abortionists. Then notice how many news stories and columns suggest a “pro-life group” connection to the murderer of the abortionist, compared to the number that suggest a “far Left peace-at-any-price group” connection to the murderer of the recruiter.

I wonder if there has been a “string of violent acts” against recruiters since, oh, 1980 or so.

The comparison is pretty silly, considering that one of the victims had become a national figure, while the other was an anonymous soldier. Of course the national figure is going to get more attention, more editorials, etc.

FWIW… both are horrible, horrible acts done by horrible people. And the first thing that went through my mind when I read that an army recruiter has been killed was that it was by a (disillusioned) peace/anit-military activist.

But to compare the two responses in an effort to come to any kind of reasonable conclusion is way off base.

I disagree with your last statement Mr. Dave, I do believe a connection can be see between the two. It makes perfect sense that there would be a double standard. When you get down to it, those whose hearts are more swayed by the devil will on some level cherish the wanton slaughter of babies and human life in general no matter how you excuse it. However for the death of one who defends life and liberty, well that can be overlooked right? I’m just saying that from the perspective of the heathen media one of these crimes stirs a passionate response and the other helps them meet deadline.

Whether you choose to acknowledge it or not, most things break down to spiritual warfare. It is obvious that the devil and those that serve him have had little value for human life, especially that of the very young. Just look at the time Jesus, or Moses was born. What was the first thing the devil set in motion? Kill all the infants right? Just gives you an idea of who is trying to control our culture now. Might as well be a trademark if you ask me.

Dave, your distinction is between celebrity and non-celebrity. But if ANY abortionist had been murdered, including one whose name we had never heard before, most of the coverage we now see of this abortionist’s murder would still be in place.

We now know that the murder of the soldier at the recruiting station was motivated by true religious fervor. It was done by a Muslim, killing for his faith, on the jihad, angry because the USA was at war in the middle east.

Will we see any significant number of editorials linking Muslim conversions in the USA with violence? Editorials warning of the connection between Muslims in the USA (including US citizens) and terrorist acts?

Will we see references to “a string” of terrorists acts in the USA?

Not in the New York Times, at any rate.

They would rather refer to the weapon used by the Muslim killer as an “assault rifle,” betraying their complete ignorance about what one is, and stress the lack of an assault rifle ban as the big problem. Funny…. I thought the problem was people who want to kill other people.

You may be right… I don’t necessarily disagree with that.

I just disagree that your “suggested line of research” would have kind of reasonable validity.

Not quite on point, but, this headline appears to be a MSM attempt to lessen what occurred here. These American soldiers were attacked by an enemy combatant on American soil. Everyone seems to be shrugging it off as just another murder. It is not. I expect we will see more of this in the future. Are American recruiters going to have to be in full combat gear at the recruiting stations?
